Classrooms, Sound Fields, Ceiling Speakers
From traditional classrooms to modern lecture theatres, TMC are adept in tailoring the latest audio visual technology to improve the learning experience for every pupil, ensure better comprehension and encourage greater interactivity with tutors. The measures TMC incorporate are a key feature of Building Schools for the Future (BSF) requirements and meet the exacting school acoustics standards of the BB93 regulations.
One of the key areas the BB93 regulations aim to address is poor school acoustics in classrooms, based on research demonstrating the impact this can have on children's learning, with added strain on staff. The 'Sound Field Systems', designed and installed by TMC, are a highly effective solution and recommended by the DfES for creating effortless audibility and communication between teachers and pupils.
The Sound Field System functions like a mini public address system in harmony with the classroom acoustics and features a wireless microphone, carefully positioned receiver, amplifier and one to four ceiling speakers (such as the Armstrong Tile Speaker). The Sound Field System lifts the teacher's voice above any ambient noise with even coverage throughout the classroom and no need for raised voices. Being wireless, the Sound Field System also allows teachers to move freely around the room without effecting their audibility. Within the design of the Sound Field Systems, TMC also provide the integrated installation of hearing aid loops.
